Incision |
The most appropriate position for the incision is between the premolar and molar or between the premolars. A cross palatal incision can be made. The correct length of the distractor can be measured from bone to bone with the assistance of the dummies.
Placement: Blockingnut (blue) always on the left!
Place the Smile Distractor plates horizontally. The side of the Blocking nut is meant for the left side. Fix the Smile Distractor with a self-drilling screw between two roots on each side. (DSSA06 or DSSA07 - screwdriver IT.0315).
Activation |
The surgeon activates the Smile Distractor so that an opening is created of ± 0.5 to 1mm between the two central incisors. This is done by placing the key instrument (IT.0414) over the mid-section of the distractor and turning from front to back. |
